"Kat knew weeks in advance that Theo would propose. On the day of the Pikes Peak drive, Theo made a comment about what VVS means ( Theo does thorough research always) and Kat meanly asked why he knew so much about diamonds just to see him sweat.
When we finally got to the top of Pikes Peak, Theo went to the back seat to grab the ring from his backpack. Kat was headed over to him, saw what he was doing, and abruptly turned around. Theo of course thinks he is slick and just says to himself "oh that was close."
Poor Theo was mildly and visibly panicking for no reason. Kat was mad her bangs didn't cooperate that day. Theo finally got down on one knee, and to this day neither of us knows what he said because he essentially whispered it and Kat thought it would be rude to make him repeat it. Furthermore, there was construction going on at the top of the summit, so while Theo was looking at Kat and a stunning vista, Kat was looking at a Caterpillar dozer and other construction machinery.
The best part was that after Theo's mouth stopped moving (and Kat assumed it was the correct type to respond "Yes") a couple who saw what was happening in the distance gave a cute and enthusiastic "whoo!" It was pretty cute."
